On Chap Goh Mei, I did not went to any lake to see people throwing mandarin instead my brother suggested to make fruit cakes which last time I did before. It is for my brother's friend farewell cake. We might not make as nice as the cake shops but I think the taste not bad. On that night after work, we wanted to have a simple dinner but then my mother called and said that daddy wanted to have dinner with us(me, Ah Wah and korkor). So we went to Desa Petaling to have dinner with my mother, daddy, aunty, brother and sister. That dinner took so long to be ready. When we finished our dinner it was like 9.10pm. I am afraid that we won't make it that night because we still have not bought the ingredients yet. We rush to Mid Valley hopefully we can buy all the ingredients that I wanted.
The first supermarket that came to my mind is Carrefour. We bought everything that we need there except for the most important one that is ovalette (sponge cake stabilizer). We have no choice but to ran to Jaya Jusco to see whether they have that or not. Luckily they got sell if not don't know what have become to the cake. Although the steps to make the cake looks simple. If you do not have experience you will have hard to time to figure out what to do next. So I am the instructor and I have 2 assistant that is Ah Wah and korkor. The first step is we bake the sponge cake first then only we cook the custard. We pour the custard onto the cake then finally the fruits arrangement and then at the end is the jelly topping. It was not easy yet not very hard. This time we did a very successful cake.
