Pulau Langkawi (Historical Island)

Before we went to Pulau Langkawi, I did mention in my blog under the title "Gopeng Visit" that my camera is having battery low problem. Although I buy a new battery, but soon after we taken for maybe 15 pictures, the camera will indicate low batt. So we went to fix the camera. And actually that guy told us that my brother camera need to use rechargable battery only can last longer. Cannot use normal battery. So we bought the rechargable battery for RM 100(4 double'a' battery)So before we bring the camera to Langkawi, I must make sure that the camera is in order. We took photo to check whether it is alright. Here is the tested photo taken at my house:


8th May 2007 (Day 1)
The day that we will depart to Pulau Langkawi in Kedah. We were very excited to reach there while on our way to Low Cost Carrier Terminal(LCCT). This was the first time for Wah to board a plane. And this was my second time to board a plane. :P
Wah sister fetch us to the airport and his mother followed along to see us off. When we reach the airport, we dunno what to do there. And what I can see is a big sign board like those we can see in the movie with red letters indicating the flight number, flight departure time & destination. So we look for our flight number and we found it. And besides the three item display on the board, there still got another one indicating A32. And what does that mean????
Aha..... we found out when we walk nearer to the counter there. It was the check-in counter number. And my check-in counter number was A32. So we walk there with our luggage (each if us got one luggage). We have to go through the Kastam Luggage Scanning before we can reach our check-in counter. I put my bag there for them to scan. Although they seems like not checking. I pass Wah and my IC to the check-in man. Then he printed our boarding pass for us. Then I ask him what about my luggage. He just ask me to wait....Oh No!!!! In front of me, there were a lot of Indians from India. (DON'T TELL ME THEY ARE BOARDING THE SAME PLANE WITH ME!!!) And yes they are. Until the time they started to check-in our luggage, this herd of Indians is like 20 of them and each of them have one luggage at least. So we have to wait them to put in their luggage first before until our turn. OMG!!! And it was like 15 minutes to let them finished their luggage. And not only that, after they finished theirs, they just won't move away from the counter. I am wondering is it they are waiting to check-in themselves into the cargo....Mother......Come out mar... Anyway that day my mood are too good to lose my temper. Wahaha :) After we finished with our luggage then we are looking where are we suppose to go to... We have no choice but to follow the herds of Indians. And we went through the metal scanning. For that one I was ok but Wah have belt on him so it beeps. And the kastam people have search his body. He was like," Wow, here is a paradise for those that are gay or lesbian because they can molest people." So Bad. Then we sit at the waiting area where we can see the flight whether the flight are ready to be board or not. While we are waiting there, Wah are too excited that he took photo of the Airasia flight.



And according to my brother friend, Alan Airasia flight is a 'Hao Po Fei Kei'. Then came this three flight attendant(all women). They were all very pretty. Not like what I imagine. All the while I thought Airasia flight attendants are those like ugly and fat women.


When the flight is ready for us to board, we are ask to line up in two line. One line is for those senior citizen, disable and family with children below age of 12. And the other one is.... no need to say also know that line is for us. So we line up waiting for our turn to board the flight. They will give priority to the other line to board the flight first. While waiting, the airport crew came and collect our boarding pass ticket. After they had collected our ticket, then we will board our flight. We have to walk ourselves into plane without any bridge connected to the airplane and it was really different from the plane that I took to Hong Kong many many years ago.


This was the first time I board a Airasia flight.

So no need to say, I am very nervous and excited. Jusr like him. In the plane, the food we need to pay, the souvenir if we want also need to pay. Cup noodle also need RM 7… Quite expensive but can’t help it because Airasia provide the cheapest air ticket ever. And this air ticket of mine are FOC. So what I am paying is only the tax. For RM 120.00 for two person. Quite cheap huh….. For a return flight ticket. So both of us actually pay RM 386.00 (for accommodation including everyday breakfast for 3D2N and the flight ticket) So we actually book it 6months advance from our trip day. We made the booking in December. It only take 1hour flight to reach Langkawi. Although they say 1 hour but found it very fast we reach the destination place. In front of us, there sit a family or four ( One mother, father and two daughter.) Their daughter was so small and adorable. And actually inside the airplane, we are suppose not bring any outside food in but the in front brought nugget from Mc Donald for both of the daughter. And the daughter was so noisy inside the plane. Might the air pressure that the children can’t take it. She keep on complaining that she can’t hear her mother and cry somemore. I am finally in Langkawi for the very first time. And this made me so excited to see actually what Langkawi looks like. Some told me that Langkawi was not fun at all. But my brother told me that it was really fun there and I should really try it out. And now I am finally here to look for myself and to judge whether is it really that fun there. We all standing at the aisle waiting for the door to open when the airplane already at the airport waiting the crew to put the staircase to the door. When we are waiting that time, the little girl sitting in front of me she looks so adorable and cute. So I smile to her and say hello. She even touch my jacket. Eeeee… So sad that I didn’t take photo with her. Because she was really very cute. Kawaiii…….Then when are in the airport, we waited for our luggage. Then just nearby there are Langkawi Tour Information Counter. Doesn’t look like a counter. There are at least 10-15 counter that they can take you for tour, hotel and the most important is car renting. So I went there to ask for the price while Wah is waiting for our luggage. And guess what………The car the counter that I ask for car rental is RM 120 for the whole time I spent in Langkawi until the day that I depart back to KL. Because what my brother told me was about RM 100 per night. So it was really cheap. We didn’t think much. When Wah grab our luggage we pay RM 120 for a Auto Wira.
In the airport, we bought one bar of chocolate to be eaten in the hotel for RM9.90. After that, we take a ride in our rented car. But before we see anything, we need to check-in for our hotel first. It was already noon when we reach there. So in the car, I made a phone calls to my mother telling her that I already safely in Langkawi now heading to our hotel. We thought that we miss the road to our hotel but when reach a junction, I can see that our hotel name is that big written there.. ASEANIA. Wow!!!! It was like those haunted mansion. So we check-in, and we need to put RM 100 deposit. And we were taken to the most last hotel room in that haunted mansion. So sorry that I did not take the photo of the building of the whole hotel. The whole hotel was in pink colour. We put all our belongings in the hotel. Then drove the car to pasar malam in Langkawi. And we really found it. We bought food only. And it is a Malay pasar malam. So nothing much nice to buy. And I am still hungry. And I heard from my brother that Langkawi is a nice place to eat seafood because it was really cheap. We head to Kuah Town to go shopping first. So I browse the price for liquor. I promise to buy one for my father. We bought Carlsberg (6 for only RM 9.50) So cheap. OMG!!!!!! We put it in the hotel so we can treat it as plain water and drink. We search for the seafood shop that we are going to eat tonight. We drive along the road near my hotel to find some seafood restaurant. There got a lot of restaurant so don’t know which to choose. Haihyah….. Until the end both of us just park our car and eat there. So I decided to order 2 seafood dishes for both of us. Whenever we ate together, Wah let me decide what food to eat. So that day ordered Live Mantis Prawn (about a long ruler length…..which is very big prawn)(Lai liu ha)2 pieces, one for each and 1 crabie as big as palm. I thought this would be enough but Wah said that the lala is cheap why don’t we order one also. So we did order one plate of lala. But then he add again, don’t want some veggie mar? Then I ordered another kangkung fried with belacan. OMG!!!!Too many liao lorh, 4 dishes for 2 of us. The next table foreigners keep on look on both of us to see whether can we finish our food or not? Muahahaha… Luckily we did finished our food. And the live mantis prawn was really very very nice… Oishii. I love it . Next time sure will order it again….

It was RM 123.00 for one dinner. Oh no….Sweat….. Next time have to budget or control when ordering that time. Sorry neh… I forgot to take photo of how big the prawn is… Amazing big. We shopped at the shops that is nearby where they sell batiks, crystals and all sorts of handi craft items.
Then after we head back to our hotel to see which tour we wanted to follow the other day. We are going for snorkeling for the first time. A bit scared and excited. So we got 3 choices to choose. Finally we choose the company where we rented the car. We need to pay RM250 for 2 of us. Expensive mar? Not sure but the price range near are RM130 per person. Tomorrow we are going to wake up at 6am because the van is going to fetch us at 8.00am and our breakfast buffet is at 7.30am onwards. So we sleep at 11pm. Guess what the haunted mansion started to make noises. I can’t sleep in the midnight because the snoring of Wah was way too loud until I woke up from my sleep. And I can hear that the “Wuwuwuwuwu” sound came in from the window of the hotel. Because it was raining cats and dogs outside. And the wind was blowing so strong. I am a bit scared that time, I tried to wake him up to accompany me but to fail. I can’t make it because he sleep too soundly until he forgot I was sleeping beside him. What should I do??? Somebody please help. But luckily I am damn tired that I sleep back althought I am awake for quite sometime.

9th May 2007 (Day 2)
At 6.00am, I woke up and went to the toilet to brush my teeth. After I finish washing my face, I woke him up. When he completed everything, we went out to try and see whether we can find pasar pagi or not. Because he want to buy short pant. We are going to the beach and he is wearing long jeans man. We drive the car until quite far. Somewhere around 7.00am, we drove back to our hotel so we can have our breakfast. We reach our hotel about 7.30am, and all those Malays already started their breakfast. Oh No…. How come they eat so early de. Mmmmm. Then only I remember, if they puasa lagi awal(more early)

The breakfast buffet that are provided, although not very nice food. But still we are full. Because it was FOC. :)

Might be because all the food that are served are cook by Malay chef where they cook western food. But still edible.After our breakfast, we waited in our hotel lobby so that they will pick us up to the jetty for our snorkeling session.Yahoo!!!As we waited there, we took picture of our hotel lobby. It looks grand but if you stay there you will know what I mean by haunted mansion.




At around 8.45am, we only saw the van that suppose to pick us up. We were drove to somewhere nearby and we have to move to a bus where there are more people. A lot of them are couples(quite young) and most of them are foreigners. But there are also groups of friends that went there for snorkeling. And you know groups of people most of them are noisy. And I quite hate it. But when I am one of them that time, I won't feel that I am too noisy and annoying. The bus drove us to the jetty and drop us there. At the counter there, we paid for our snorkeling fees that is RM250.00 for both us. After that, we were brought to the jetty where the boat is located. We went inside the boat. Inside, all the dive master will approach the tourist asking whether we wanted to dive in the sea. They charge RM100 per person. And they say, all you need to do is do a bit of kicking in the water and breath. Others the dive master will do it all. And one person will need one dive master to teach them.When the boat starting to depart to Pulau Payar we took a lot of photo because the scenery was so beautiful. Here they are:-

We had our lunch break. Our lunch menu:-

i) bread

ii) one piece of fried chicken

iii)apple

iv)one packet of biscuit

v)mineral water

vi)one hard boil egg

Which me and Wah finish the whole lunch box without leaving anything behind because too hungry.

Then after our lunch, they use our unfinish lunch to feed the shark in the sea where they call it feeding time.

The shark came up to the shore nearby.

As you can see here, the coral in the sea was like this brown. No colourful coral but the place still so nice.


After our snorkeling session, we went back to hotel around 6pm. So both of us quickly take a bath and went out again. This time we went to Dataran Lang(next to the jetty)

This is the beautiful scenery that you can see there if you really like sea and beaches. I love it so much...

After this we went to the Taman Lagenda Langkawi(next to Dataran Lang)

Outside of the Taman Lagenda, there is this man riding a small motorcycle. It was so cute.When Wah took picture of him, he nearly fall of from the mini motorcycle:P

We went to Kuah to eat and bought those duty free item because tomorrow is the day that we need to go back to KL.. How sad :(

We bought 2 liquor and 2 carton of cigaratte. So cheap. But the liquor and cigaratte will be more light compare to the KL's.

10th May 2007(Day 3)

As usual, we ate our breakfast before we start our trip again. After our breakfast, we check-out from our hotel room. Then the first place we head to was crocodile farm where there are small, medium and big crocodiles.

Here you can see the crocodile looks like very fierce but actually they only open the mouth waiting for prey to went into their mouth.They all are like statue only:-

Then we headed to the Kompleks Kraf Langkawi. Here they got sell a lot of stuff including pewter.
